The Ministry of Personnel Management (MPM) and the Civil Service Council (CSC) of Mongolia recently drew up an Action Plan together to ensure expanded cooperation on human resource management in the civil service.

The Action Plan 2020-2021 sets out the delivery of a customized training program for Mongolian government employees and sharing of experience for the development of the merit-based employment examination system in the public sector.

The plan was arranged on the occasion of the visit to Korea by the CSC delegation headed by Chairman Baldan BAATARZORIG from 17 to 20 February 2020.

The delegation from the CSC, which is also taking part in an UNDP* project on civil service reforms, visited the Ministry and its two affiliated organizations, National Human Resources Development Institute (NHI) and the Appeals Commission.

During their visit, the delegation was introduced to the Korean government's personnel management policies and best practices, and also had an informative briefing and Q&A session with experienced MPM officials.

While meeting with Chairman BAATARZORIG and the delegation, MPM Minister Hwang Seo-chong shared the Ministry's vision for expanded bilateral cooperation with Mongolia as part of the government's New Northern Policy and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

"It is hoped that Korea's experience in public personnel administration contributes to the civil service reforms of the Mongolian government," said Minister Hwang who also paid a visit to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, at the invitation of the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Mongolia in December 2019.
