The Minister of Personnel Management Kim Pan Suk was awarded the 2018 ACSH Award for Contribution to Civil Service Excellence by the Astanta Civil Service Hub (ACSH) at its annual conference held in Astana, Kazakhstan on June 8, 2018. The award recognizes Minister Kim’s contributions to the development of the ACSH’s initiatives, in particular to strengthen the platform and activities to modernize the civil service systems in the Central Asian Region. Over the years, Minister Kim has been actively involved in advisory activities in the field of public personnel management for the countries in the region.

Established in 2013 as an initiative of the Government of Kazakhstan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the ACSH (www.regionalhub.org) is a multilateral institutional platform to promote civil service effectiveness.

Acknowledging the importance of civil service excellence for good public governance and development, the Ministry of Personnel Management (MPM) of the Republic of Korea is expanding its efforts to transfer knowledge in the area of civil service systems to the developing countries, for example, by providing consultation on enactment of the civil service law and civil service reform in Uzbekistan.
