On October 28, delegates from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) visited the Ministry of Personnel Management (MPM).

The delegation, headed by Jón Blondal of the OECD's Public Management and Budgeting Division, was on a mission to review the progress of an ongoing joint research project and to discuss potential mid- and long-term cooperation initiatives between the MPM and the OECD.

The discussed agenda included establishing a regional network of Public Employment and Management (PEM) for Asia and ways to drive innovation in the field of public personnel management in the post COVID-19 era.

Sharing and disseminating Korea's knowledge and experience in public personnel management with the OECD and Southeast Asian countries will contribute to delivering Korea's New Southern Policy, which is the country's ‘core diplomatic initiative aimed at creating prosperity and peace through comprehensive cooperation with ASEAN member states’.

With the international community, the Ministry will continue to map out and disseminate strategies for public personnel management which will respond to the needs of the times.
