Purpose

  • To help senior and director-level civil servants in charge of various international conferences and negotiations to acquire an international mindset and perspective
  • To improve policy development capabilities of senior and director-level civil servants as major policy makers in central administrative agencies by learning about foreign policy case studies and experiences and to foster international experts by region and job

Training Overview

  • Training period: 1 year or less
  • Training institutions: Foreign government institutions, international organizations, graduate schools, research institutes, etc.
  • Qualifications
    • Age: 53 years old or younger as of the end of the selection year (50 years old or younger for director-level job training)
    • Position: Senior civil servants and Grade 3 or 4 director-level
    • Others who have certain experience and meet certain language requirements

Training expenses

  • Living expenses
    • Senior civil servants: 1.6 or 1.8 times the cost of living in each country for a long-term general training course
    • Director-level: 1.5 or 1.7 times the cost of living in each country for a long-term general training course
  • Medical insurance premium: A certain amount of the medical insurance premium is paid according to the country
  • Educational expenses: Within $10,000 per year
  • Living expenses ($500) and moving home expenses ($300 for Asia / $600 for other regions)
  • Airfare: Paid separately
