Legal basis
  • Articles 51 through 53 of the Public Officials' Accident Compensation Act (formed on September 21st 2018)
  • Article 87 of the Public Officials Pension Act
Main functions ①Examination of objection to a decision on benefits under the Public Officials Pension Act (retirement benefits, survivors' benefits,disability benefits for reasons other than official duties, retirement allowance), collection of contributions, and the payment of benefits under the Public Officials Pension Act
②Examination of objection to benefits under the Public Officials' Accident Compensation Act (medical care benefits, rehabilitation benefits, nursing benefits, accident benefits for survivors, or relief benefits)
③Matters that are prescribed by other Acts scheduled to undergo examination by the Committee ④Where deemed necessary for the improvement of statutes, regulations and systems relating to examination, the Committee mayoffer an opinion or make a recommendation for improvement to the Minister of Personnel Management.
Composition of Committee Chairperson and standing members Appointed or commissioned by the President upon the recommendation of the Minister of Personnel Management
※ Standing member (Accident Compensation Policy Director) shall also serve as the head of the administrative organization under Paragraph 4, Article 52 of the Act.
Ex officio members Civil servants of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and the Ministry of Personnel Management, appointed by the heads of the relevant agencies from among civil servants in charge accident compensation, pension, welfare or service
Commissioned members Appointed or commissioned by the President among former and current civil servants of the Senior Executive Service, legal professionals, medical professionals, experts in personnel administration or social security, such as accident compensation, pension, welfare, and service
Meetings 11 - 15 members at each meeting, including the Chairperson, standing members and other members designated by the chairperson
