Remuneration scheme in the civil service

Remuneration refers to salaries and various types of allowances. Salaries are classified into a base pay (commensurate with civil servants’ roles determined by the complexity of duties and responsibility) and a grade pay (commensurate with civil servants’ grades and pay grades determined by the complexity of duties, responsibility, and the period served). Allowances refer to additional payments made in consideration of work conditions and personal circumstances.
